From Frank:  Kevin has been our CMMI Lead Appraiser (LA) since their initial appraisal in 2014 (CMMI-Dev ML3) as well as re-appraisals in 2017 and  2020. Needless to say, he does a great job and very easy to work with.

I personally have been involved in a number of appraisals ranging from ML3 to ML5 and have seen how different LAs operate; hands down Kevin is the best.  When we were doing the initial appraisal I did not know Kevin and I was not wanting to use any prior appraisers that I was familiar with so we did a trade study analysis on various appraisers and Kevin was selected.

  • CMMI experience: He has a solid understanding of the model from the implementation viewpoint.  Kevin has a great ability to understand how the model can be applied to our business and not forcing companies to implement literally what the model states.  
  • Accessibility: Kevin quickly responds to emails, phone calls and keeps us informed when he is traveling or would not be available
  • Professional: Kevin always maintains an calm persona even when the appraisal team can get very emotional over discussion
  • He listens! Most appraisers come in with large egos.  Kevin is just the opposite; he truly wants the company to get the benefits of CMMI not just for the sake of a piece of paper on the wall (cert).

Kevin has the same goal of implementing CMMI while adding value to the company and doing it for the right reason.  I think that is a major reason why I highly recommend Kevin as your lead appraiser! He gets it!

From Sean:  Kevin is an amazingly dynamic individual that will work with you to make CMMI work for your organization and not you work for CMMI. 

I experienced an innate patience and willingness to make sure that our organizational needs were being met within the confines of our corporate governance.  I honestly do not have anything constructive to say about him.

Further, unbeknown to him, we will are planning sole sourcing him this coming year during our renewal instead of the usual competitive bidding process we would go through.
